She is Alan Shapiro Distinguished Professor of Sociology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and has over 20 years of professional experience in biodemography of aging and quantitative methodology. Claire holds a Ph.D degree in Sociology, an M.S. degree in Statistics, and B.A. in Chinese Language and Literature.
